Bill Killebrew "Dessert" Lithograph
This print was co-published with the artist and Blue Spiral 1 Gallery in Asheville, NC. The prints are available for sale at the galleries website.
This collaboration with Bill began with a phone call when Perry reached out of the blue and asked if he had any interest in making lithographs together. To Perry's happy surprise, he was intriqued and agreed to come out and work for a week. One week turned into proofs going back and forth in the mail, and another week to create new layers and finalize the approvals for editioning.
Perry says, "I have long admired Bills paintings that I first saw at Blue Spiral 1 years ago. When I got back to town a couple years ago I made a list of artists that I particularly wanted to work with, and Bill was at the top of the list. His painting style speaks to me and my days as a painter admiring the likes of Bonnard, Vuillard, Matisse, Fairfield Porter (and later found our shared love of Neo Rausch!) We talked a lot about these painters and their use of "chroma", and an abstract expressionist manner of painting figurative subjects, in this case drawn directly from the artists life.
This is a 5-color lithograph printed from one stone and 3 aluminum plates, including a blended inking layer. It's 18x24 inches and printed on Somerset soft white satin paper.
