Damien LaRue "Flamingo"
Damien LaRue’s lithograph showcases his signature style, defined by symmetry, optical movement, and motifs drawn from nature. Raised in Florida, LaRue incorporates the state’s light, landscape, and atmosphere as recurring elements in his work. This piece originated from digitally manipulated stock imagery, which was then manually separated into five dot-matrix layers in collaboration with Obee Editions. The final print was produced using positive-working photo litho plates on a direct hand litho press, presented as a variable edition in eight distinct color arrangements, four of which are available exclusively through Obee Editions.
Damien is an interdisciplinary artist based in Tampa, Florida and Asheville, North Carolina. He works primarily in printmaking, photography, and pastel drawing. His work is influenced by symmetry, optical movement, and elements from the natural world. Living and working in Florida has shaped much of his visual style. The light, landscape, and atmosphere of the state are recurring elements that inform his work.
