Kimberly Obee "Flora Fatalis" Tryptich
These are letterpress broadside reduction relief prints with handset type. The series relates to "fatal" plants that have medicinal uses when used properly. The three prints in the series are Oleander, Nightshade, and Water Hemlock. An original poem is featured in each print written by the artist and printed using hand-set lead type printed on a letterpress. Each print is offered individually or as the complete set of all three which comes housed in a custom paper folio.
Kimberly Obee is a printmaker, book artist, and illustrator whose work explores overlooked landscapes and wild botanicals. Her imagery is rooted in close observation, often beginning with plein-air drawings made in her sketchbook. Recurring themes of plants and place reflect her deep connection to the natural environments she’s lived in across the U.S.
