These original lithographs are inspired by watercolor studies of the desert landscapes of New Mexico. Artist Perry Obee transforms the vibrant desert scenery into contemporary printmaking by isolating abstract forms and reimagining them through the medium of lithography. Rather than direct reproductions, these fine art prints function as abstractions of memory—layered interpretations that blend the fluidity of watercolor with the graphic depth of print.
Each lithograph was hand-pulled using traditional stone and aluminum plate lithography techniques. The process involved litho tusche washes, crayon drawing, sanding, scraping, and carefully blended inking to build complex color layers and rich textures. The result is a series of limited edition desert landscape lithographs that merge painterly expression with the precision of classic printmaking.
